Founder


He was born on December 29, 1905 as the fourth child of Alexis Pinto and Maria Serra in Tudam Village in the Diocese of Mangalore. He belongs to an ancient Christian family of Saraswat Brahmin origin. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Trichy on April 2 1938 . He arrived in Varanasi on November 3, 1941 with the specific intention of founding the Indian Missionary Society. He entered eternal life in the night of August 23, 1972 in Mumbai and His mortal remains were brought to Varanasi and laid to rest in the cemetry at Christnagar on 29, March 1976.
